US EPA Nationwide Facilities Guide
Every 2-3 years, the US EPA publishes their
Nationwide Facilities Guide detailing all the
space the Agency occupies around the country.
In addition to the layouts for this 154-page book,
I was responsible for verifying the information
contained within it, AND I did much of the
writing. A large job, especially when working
with such a dynamic Agency. At the time this
guide was published, approximately 25,000 EPA
personnel occupied almost 10 million square feet
of space in about 200 facilities. The Guide
includes an introduction that highlights different
facilities-related programs being implemented
and usually features new properties acquired
since the previous publication of the book.
Within the book, the facilities are presented by
Region, starting with a map of the Region and
then a map of the city where the Regional
Headquarters is located. The individual facilities
are then shown starting with the headquarters.
Statistics on each facility include (amongst other
things) the square footage, number of personnel,
and program housed there. For major facilities,
the book  includes photographs and a narrative.

Note the ovals that bleed off the edge of each page. They are in a different position for each chapter and
when you view the book from the edge, they create a kind of tab-less indexing system.
